Do Tattoos Hurt?

YES. Its is true that tattoos are generally painful. After all, we are using needles to permanently insert pigments into the skin. Although, the level of pain does vary from person to person and depending on the placement of the tattoo. Certain areas of the body tend to be more sensitive than others.

The fact that you are asking this question tells us that you probably don’t have any tattoos. In our experience as professional tattooists, and tattoo collectors ourselves, we can assure you that 99% of the time the pain is less than what was expected. In fact, many First time tattoo clients are Surprised but the feeling, claiming it to be much less painful than anticipated.
